I've been reading bits and pieces about the XOs since before Christmas, but hearing your preso at EdubloggerconwestSF in January accelerated my curiosity about connecting low-income students in my district via XOs. But after a visit to the website, I'm a little concerned about the lack of contact information. I realize we're talking wireless connections, so I'm still thinking about that angle too. I need more information!
I can't imagine... unless unscrupulous XO owners somehow associated their machines w/ the kid's through the thin mesh? It is another way to network, but you have to be in pretty close physical proximity...
I'm curious-- XOs are available in the US edu market now I hear... how did you learn about this, and what is OLPC saying to schools?
I want to provide 4th graders at one of our low-income, low-performing schools with a connection to the world and the chance to go beyond a scripted language arts program.
I'm headed in to read your ASUS eeePCs post. Anything else I should be reading?
I want to know more about your proposal, what you hope to do with XOs. Lots of folks are buying ASUS eeePCs, and there are other small computer providers emerging: http://www.classroom20.com/group/xo/forum/topic/show?id=649749%3ATopic%3A99977

Hi Jane,
I should find out tomorrow if I'm funded. Cross your fingers!
